Ulkar Mammadova
Owner/Therapist
Ulkar’s passion for this field grew from her own experiences as an athlete (rugby and soccer), her fair share of injuries, as well as her current active lifestyle (hiking, climbing, and kayaking).
Ulkar pursued a B.Sc. in Kinesiology and graduated from McGill University, where she discovered a passion for anatomy, biomechanics and the intricacies of the human body as a whole. This, combined with her love of sports, led her to work with athletes and people with active lifestyles, and ultimately resulted in the completion of a post-degree in Athletic Therapy from Mount Royal University.
Her belief in balancing exercise programs within a healthy lifestyle also led her to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach and a TRX Certified Coach. Furthermore, as an Athletic Therapist, she believes in continued professional development which led her to complete a 5 year program at the Canadian College of Osteopathy in order to expand her range of therapy techniques. As an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, she uses various techniques in a clinical setting to help people from all walks of life lead a better, pain-free lifestyle.
In addition to clinic work, Ulkar also works with a variety of sports teams (lacrosse, soccer, football, ringette, and hockey) and supervises Athletic Therapy students in clinical and sports settings.
Ulkar believes that movement and one’s ability to complete a desired physical task pain-free is of great importance to people’s physical, emotional and psychological well-being. She is uniquely positioned to support her patients by drawing on the breadth of both her personal and professional experiences, in order to guide them in their healing process.
